About Me

“For by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works so that no one can boast.” -Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)

My name is Beth. I spend most of my time thinking about words. Reading great ones, learning to write them, teaching kids to love them, and trying to use them kindly instead of harshly.

I started this blog for two main reasons. First, because after 18 years of school (counting my 2 years of preschool), adapting to life without homework was harder than I thought it would be. I really missed writing.

The second reason is that, in the year following my graduation from college I had been through a series of challenges at work and in my personal life that left me feeling like God must be trying to teach me something. In the end, I realized that almost everything I had been through had taught me more about God’s inexplicable grace.

I chose the topic of grace for this blog, not because I feel that I am a particularly gracious person but because I am so often reminded of the tremendous grace that God has lavished on me. This is mainly just a way for me to share my experiences- and inevitably some failures- in my attempts to live a grace-filled life.
